Rachel Blanche Henson, age 87, died on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Mission Hospitals – Memorial Campus.
A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Columbus and Mary Haseltine Haynes Henson. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Cathren "Tootie" Henson Queen, Mae Henson Wells, Loree Henson Dotson, and Gladys Henson and three brothers, Haynes, Albert Woodrow "Snip", and George Henson. She retired in 1986 from American Enka with 24 years of service and was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Spring Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Keith Clark and Reverend Wayne Willett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spring Hill Baptist Church, 1918 Murray Road, Canton, NC 28716.
