Waynesville, William F. Burgert, Jr., age 59, of Sawyer Street, died on Monday, January 25, 2010 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.
William was a native of Bronx, NY, and had lived in Haywood County three and a half years prior to living in Texas. He was the son of the late William Frederick and Daisy Waddill Burgert. He was a US Army Special Forces veteran serving in Vietnam. William was employed by Diamond Bulk as a Truck Driver and enjoyed collecting guns and hunting.
He is survived by four daughters, Jolene Grassia and her husband, Jimmy, of NY City; Paris Hensley and her companion, Mark Forrest, of Waynesville, Amber Burgert, of Waynesville and Jennifer Daly, of Decatur, Al.; one sister, Selma Burgert, of Maldon, MS. and two grandchildren, Jocelyn Shantz and Jade Hensley.
Due to weekend weather concerns the memorial service has been canceled and reschuled for Friday, February 5, 2010 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
