Waynesville, Randy Vern Cook, age 47, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the John F. Keever Solice Center.
A native of Oklahoma County, OK, Randy was a graduate of Moore High School and received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma. He also held a Certified Public Accountant License in Oklahoma and North Carolina. At the time of this death, Randy was Vice President of Finance at Haywood Vocational Opportunities. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Haywood County and was also a committee chair of MARC, Inc. He was an active member of Hazelwood Baptist Church and also served as a Deacon.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Christy C. Cook; his parents, R.V. and Vivian Vanderpool Cook, of Moore, OK; one son, Aubrey Cook of Oklahoma City, OK; three daughters, Ashleigh Cook, a student at Western Carolina University, and Sarah and Hannah Cook, both of the home; one brother, Richie Cook and his wife, Janice, and their children, Darci and Kyle Cook, of Oklahoma City, OK; brother-in-law, T.J. Cook and his children, Kenzi and Peyton Cook of Salisbury, NC; and his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Beth Cook of Waynesville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 8, 2010 at Hazelwood Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Lolly officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
