Troy Eugene Smith, 36, husband of Danielle Booth Smith of Anderson, died March 5, 2010 in an automobile accident.

Born in Sami-Dallas, AL., he was a son of the late James Louis Messer and Gail Smith Jennings of Greenville. He was predeceased by grandfathers, Larry Smith and Melvin Posey.

Mr. Smith was employed by Dawson's Radiator Service as a mechanic. If it was a mechanical problem, he could fix it. He was an accomplished tattoo artist for 18 years and was an avid collector of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. memorabilia. He was a kind and loving husband, father, uncle and a friend to all who knew him.

Mr. Smith was a member of Agnew Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending every available minute with his son. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are; a son, Troy Michael Smith of the home; a sister, Angela Johnson of Easley; a brother, James J. L. Smith of Greenville; grandparents, Evelyn Smith, of Greenville; Fran Posey-Goldman, of Greer; two nieces, Amanda Johnson and Isbell "Izzy" Smith; and a nephew Terry "T.J." Johnson.

Visitation will be Monday, March 8, 2010, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The service will be Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel. A committal service will be at 3:00 p.m., at the Messer Family Cemetery, on Beantown Road in Waynesville, N.C.
